These half days of reflection, meditation and mindfulness are led by an experienced facilitator, trained in mindfulness. Throughout the year these half-days provide an opportunity to nurture and strengthen the energy of mindfulness and the practice of meditation in the company of others.
This is an 8 week course (2.5 hours per week) with one full day (10am-4pm) between weeks 6 and 7. The course aims to assist you in taking better care of yourself and in getting more out of living. Many people completing the programme report lasting physical and psychological benefits including: An increased ability to relax and experience calm and an increased ability to cope more effectively with both short and long term stressful situations.

Mindfulness encourages us to deeply listen to ourselves and develop insight and wisdom and compassion opens our hearts so that we can lean towards our challenges and difficulties with kindness. Compassion fundamentally begins with ourselves and when we feel ready the journey can ripple out in ever-widening circles. During the course we will explore some of the background underlying compassion training particularly for oneself as well as ways in which it can be anchored in everyday life.

The Sanctuary is pleased to offer the Teach .b course. The training will consist of real-time lessons, an exploration of the pedagogy of the .b curriculum, and opportunities to practise teaching the key exercises, in order to leave feeling confident and empowered to teach the curriculum to young people.
With Dominic Cogan, this is an 8-week programme delivered by a trained Mindfulness for Teachers: .b Foundations teacher. It is designed for teachers, staff, and parents who want to develop their own mindfulness practice and enhance their own wellbeing. However it would also enable participants who develop a practice to qualify for further training in order to teach .b or Paws .b to young people. This course will finish on the 24th April as there will be no classes on the 20th March or the 3rd April.

In this mindful Hatha yoga, Wednesday evening class participants are introduced to breath awareness practices and the experience of stillness. Yoga postures and sequences are practiced with awareness as we connect mind, body and heart in the present moment.

Each class is an hour and a half in duration.
