8-week .b Foundations Course with Dominic Cogan January 2019
Times & Dates: Tuesday January 22nd, 7pm – 9pm, until Tuesday March 12th
Location: the Sanctuary, Stanhope Street, Dublin 7
This 8 week programme is designed for teachers, staff, and parents who want to develop their own mindfulness practice and enhance their own wellbeing. However, it would also enable participants who develop a practice to qualify for further training in order to teach .b or Paws b to young people.
Mindfulness for Teachers: .b Foundations is based on the core mindfulness principles found within Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) courses. However it differs in that it has been designed with school staff in mind. The training sessions and recommended home practices are shorter than MBSR/MBCT and designed to be accessible, yet still effective, for busy educational staff.
The course includes aspects of the .b and Paws .b curricula, along with sessions exploring the specific challenges facing those in educational settings in bringing mindfulness to the school community.
By the end of the course, participants may find their mindfulness practice supports them to:
- feel happier, calmer and more fulfilled
- get on better with others, including students and colleagues
- work more effectively by bringing increased awareness to the process
- increase resilience in the face of stress and difficulties
Course Facilitator: Dominic Cogan.
