Community Ashtanga Yoga for beginners is a welcoming, inclusive, safe and collaborative space that welcomes everybody no matter shape, size, colour, ethnicity, sexuality etc., and its main purpose is to bring mental well-being, stability, mind-body connection and movement to the practitioners. Sometimes inertia can leads to anxiety, depression, lack of self-love and self-respect, and therefore need for something to lift us up emerges. The commitment to walking the path towards personal growth takes strength of body, mind, and spirit and is accessible to each and every one of us.
Ashtanga yoga translates to Eight-Limbed Yoga, which refers to the eight spiritual practices outlined by Indian philosopher Patanjali in his book Yoga Sutra. A dedicated ashtangi shows up to the mat six days a week, resting on Saturday, and refraining from practice on the days that the new and full moons fall during the month.
Even though daily practice is highly recommended we will be offering this course only one day a week, commencing on Thursday 9th May 2019 from 6.30-7.30 pm.

About Petar: Petar was born in Croatia, and raised around the world. He is currently based here in Dublin. He started his transformational yoga journey in 2012, experimenting with different yoga traditions. Since 2016, under the guidance of his teachers John Forde, Suzanne Brennan Forde (Dublin) and Luke Jordan (Colares, Portugal) he has been practicing Ashtanga yoga, which has become his passion and lifestyle. Petar has recently returned from India where he has been studying under the guidance of Sharath Jois at the Shri K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore.
