Mindfulness for Resilience This July, With Richard Bohan Martin

This course is Onsite

Course Description: Cultivating a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us can start with us becoming more present and Mindfulness offers us the ability to do just this. We can learn to regulate our behavioural response to stress and provides us more choice in how we cope with adversity.

  • Understanding what Mindfulness is and how it can be used to build resilience through formal and informal mindfulness and mediation practices.
  • An understanding of brain function and how we can use Mindfulness to hack some of our negative automatic thoughts.
  • Learning about your nervous system and how to regulate it using awareness of breath and body and breathing techniques.
  • The importance of self-care and self-compassion, communicating effectively with ourselves and incorporating all of these into your day to day.

About The Facilitator

  • It was through the understanding that mindset could be changed with compassion and stillness that led Richard to become a meditation and mindfulness practitioner and teacher.
  • A 2021 graduate of the MSc in Mindfulness Based Interventions UCD, Richard is now a qualified teacher in MBSR and works in a one to one capacity with clients combining his understanding of Buddhist Principles, Neuroscience and the Cognitive Therapies.
  • Richard believes that the path to inner peace lies in loving what is and in acknowledging the many different parts of ourselves, those we like and dislike, that make us unique and human.

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them, that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality, let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like”
