This conference will explore how cultivating Loving Kindness and Compassion can be a stable foundation for ‘Carers’ and those working in the Caring Profession.

There is a growing body of evidence that Loving Kindness Meditation and Compassion are useful in creating the conditions for a more caring and resilient environment both at work and at home. We will consider what is at stake for Carers when Self Compassion and Loving Kindness are absent and why that absence can lead to severe burnout.

That’s the topic that our keynote speaker Sharon Salzberg will pose and probe. She will be joined by Niamh Bruce -Mindfulness Teacher at the Sanctuary and Full-Time Carer. Niamh will speak about the application of mindfulness through her own experience as a Full Time Carer. Kathleen Neenan-Assistant Professor and Researcher at Trinity College Dublin will speak on how to create a more caring environment for the individual, family and organization. You are invited to cultivate Loving Kindness and Compassion on the day and to join in on the conversation which will consider how these practices can bring a more holistic approach to our people caring professions.

This Conference will be of interest to everyone. It will be of special interest to carers, managers, frontline staff, educationalists, healthcare professionals, human resources specialists, and people in the criminal justice system, and teachers of Mindfulness as well as people who practice mindfulness in their everyday lives.  To hear Sharon talk about how to create a Culture of Wellness at work, see this short video:
