Welcome to the Sanctuary
The Sanctuary is a meditation centre in the heart of Dublin city and a very special place, its vision is - to be STILLNESS…in the world…
The Sanctuary believes that everyone can access this place of stillness within themselves and once it is part of their consciousness its potential for their well-being and the well-being of society is huge.
Through its programmes, courses, workshops and activities it strives to invite people into stillness and mindfulness, there to discover inner resources that lead to the full flourishing of human life.
The Sanctuary’s beautiful gardens and peaceful inner spaces hold a place of rest and calm for mind, body and spirit.

Remembering Thomas Merton
Saturday January 31st 2015 is the centenary of Tomas Merton’s birth. Monk, Poet, Peace Activist, Merton made a deep impression in his short life and left‑ us a rich legacy through his writings on Solitude, Silence and Contemplation. He saw that what we all seek most fundamentally is the awakening of our true inner self, our heart. Tomas Merton will be remembered through the eyes of TONY BATES, someone who has loved Merton for many years and who has drawn on him to deepen his understanding and practice of mindfulness.
This event takes place on January 31st, 2015 - 10am - 1pm at St. Laurence's Church, DIT Campus, Lr. Grangegorman Rd. Dublin 7 (3 minutes from the Sanctuary).
