“Peaceful Balm For The Soul” – Ashram Attendees Describe Their Experience

Our Ashram experience, in the sublime setting of Stella Maris House in Howth has been underway throughout the month of July and still has a week to go.

Under the gracious guidance of Korko Moses, a Jesuit priest from India dozens of people have been pursuing silence, simplicity and inner stillness in a serene location. It’s really been an immensely uplifting spiritual experience for many and with a week to go we thought we’d share some of the feedback we’ve been sent. You can read it here.

The Ashram Experience runs from the 30th of June to the 30th July in Stella Maris, Carrick Road, Baily, Howth, Co. Dublin. You can book here.

Join Fr. Koko Moses On These Short Summer Retreats.

The Sanctuary is delighted to welcome back Korko Moses SJ. Fr. Korko is an Indian Jesuit and founder of Dhyana Vanam Ashram in Dindigul in Southern India, a Christian centre for Yoga and Meditation for Spiritual Awakening (Self Realisation).

Fr Korko Moses will be running an Intensive Journaling Retreat starting on the 27th of August at 9:30 am. It costs €225 to take part. This four day silent retreat is based on the Intensive Journal Method, developed by Ira Prorpoff , an integrated system of writing exercises.

On September 1st at 10am Fr Korko Moses will also be leading a Three Day Silent Non-residentual Retreat In the Sanctuary. It costs €150 for a place. This silent retreat will combine meditation, awareness practices, yogic stretches, breathwork and discourses inspired by both Eastern and Western spirituality.

Testimonials

“The Sanctuary is a an oasis in the urban noise, a place for solitude, connection, growth and healing. At a time when so many of us are living busy lives, the need for quiet spaces to rest, reflect and reconnect has never been more important. Sr Stan and the team at the Sanctuary have been blazing a trail for almost thirty years. They have been leading lights in the introduction of mindfulness and meditation to Ireland. I’d love to see a Sanctuary centre in every town and village in Ireland.”

– Ruairí McKiernan is a social campaigner and member of the Council of State.

“I have found The Sanctuary to be a quiet, nourishing space to come to in the heart of Dublin. I undertook the 3 month mindfulness course which helped me cope with significant surgery and medical treatment. I continue to attend the half day mindfulness monthly to help me develop and incorporate mindfulness into my daily routine and existence.

I have found all the facilitators to be approachable and knowledgeable. The Sanctuary has and continues to nourish my spirit and enrich my life. Mindfulness allows me cope better with life’s challenges. ”

– Joyce Loughnan is the former CEO of Focus Ireland and a member of the International Women’s Forum.
