The road to emotional wellbeing and balance lies in navigating our emotional landscape with wisdom and compassion. The Science of Emotion is a fascinating area of study and when combined with mindfulness practice is the pathway to a full and enriching emotional life. Without awareness, we are frequently driven by emotion and inflict untold harm upon ourselves and others. With awareness, our emotions can operate as intended: a guiding light and touchstone to help us navigate our world with authenticity and individuality.
This 4-week course is a rich combination of mindfulness and neuroscience providing tools to enable us to navigate our emotional life with skill and balance. Each week, we will focus on a central pillar of meditation: mindfulness, compassion, insight, wisdom.
We will discover how we can meet our most challenging emotions- like anger, disappointment, or fear, with acceptance and gentle care. Through practice we can come to hold our difficult emotions like a mother holding a crying baby - with tenderness and great care.
We will cultivate emotions that enrich our lives and expand our wellbeing - Awe, Gratitude and Joy. Emotions that we would all dearly wish to feel more off.
"Can we find a place in the middle, where one is neither overcome by emotion nor repressing emotional states? That is a place of discovery, exploration, and enrichment". Sharon Salzburg
