In this 4 week course, participants will be introduced to some chosen philosophical themes  that lend themselves for a deeper meditative, reflective examination. This course is for all who are curious about (Western) philosophy, or who would like to revisit some perennial themes of philosophical enquiry in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Reading material will be provided. No specialist knowledge or experience is required for this course.

In this Monday evening course, the two fields of philosophy and meditative mindfulness are being brought together as an opportunity to stay mindfully present in intellectual reflection. Each gathering lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes. There will be a short meditation at the beginning and end of each evening, an introductory lecture or shared reading, followed by time for reflection and group discussion.

March 30th Week 2 - The ship of Theseus: What is Identity?

March April 13th Week 3 - The difference between knowing and believing: What can we really know?
