The Sanctuary is delighted to announce that we'll be collaborating again with world-renowned poet, Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer.
Starting on August 11th at 7pm Irish time, this 3-week online course will be invitation for participants to play with the help of poetry.
Life is serious. Let’s play.
Join Rosemerry in letting curiosity, uncertainty and fun driveour writing into fresh, resonant new regions—places we couldn’t possibly predict. That’s right. Writing for pleasure. Finding rules and breaking them. Play is a secret weapon for meeting failure, vulnerability, uncertainty andhumility.
Play helps us fall in love with the world, and with words, too. We’ll read poems that make us laugh, shake our heads, open our hearts and show up,and then in that vein, we’ll write. Gravity, of course, is also invited. There’s always a dark underbelly. Let’s tickle it.

Participants will leave with:
· ideas for how to bring playfulness into our writing practice,
· an appreciation for paradox and how to explore it through poetry,
· two poems (or seeds for poems) from each of our in-classwriting times,
· more writing invitations to try on your own,
· suggestions for how to write past what you know into the unknown,
· a sense of how creative practice might go beyond the pageand into daily life.
