What happens when we die?

Few questions have fascinated humanity more deeply than this one.

Every culture, religion and spiritual tradition has offered its own understanding of what lies beyond death. Today, alongside these ancient teachings, we also have insights emerging from near-death experiences, consciousness research, spiritualism, psychology and contemplative practice.

This unique one-day workshop brings these different perspectives together in a clear, accessible and thought-provoking exploration of the afterlife.

Rather than asking you to adopt a particular belief system, the day invites you into a journey of exploration—examining the world's wisdom traditions, reflecting on modern evidence, and discovering a new framework through The Inner House Model, developed by John F. Doherty.

Throughout the workshop, John will use over 30 original diagrams and illustrations to help make complex spiritual ideas understandable and practical.

During the Day We Will Explore the World's Great Spiritual Traditions

What do the major religions teach about life after death?

We will examine the common themes—and the significant differences—between:

  • Christianity
  • Judaism
  • Islam
  • Hinduism
  • Buddhism
  • Sikhism
  • Taoism
  • Indigenous and shamanic traditions
  • Spiritualism

Rather than comparing religions to determine which is "correct," we will explore the wisdom each tradition contributes to our understanding of consciousness beyond death.

The Inner House Model

John will introduce his original Inner House Model, a map of consciousness that helps explain both our psychological development and our spiritual evolution.

Using this model we will explore:

  • the wounded aspects of ourselves carried in the basement
  • the compensating identities created in the attic
  • awakening into presence within the house itself
  • the deeper archetypal dimensions of consciousness
  • what happens to consciousness when the physical body dies

The Inner House offers a practical framework for understanding both life and death as part of one continuous journey of awakening.
