Awakening the Nadis: A 4-Week Traditional Kundalin iYoga
This 4-week course is rooted in traditional Kundalini Yoga and classical pranayama, with a strong emphasis on:
▪ Authentic breathwork (as taught in classical yogic texts and oral traditions)
▪ Systematic opening and purification of the nad isystem (Ida, Pingala, Sushumna, and subsidiary nadis)
▪ Energetic sequencing that works progressively through the chakric and pranic body
▪ Cultivation of steadiness (sthira), sensitivity(sukshma), and inner perception
▪ This is not a modern fitness-style Kundalini class. Movements are purposeful, breath-led, and energetically precise. Beginners are welcome, but the course assumes willingness to work with longer pranayama holds, subtle awareness, and disciplined practice.
Main focus on this four weeks will be on owning the traditional sequence of pranayama and movements and understanding their importance:
In traditional yogic systems, pranayama is not a collection of techniques but a progressive energetic science. Each practice is placed in a precise sequence because prana moves through the nadi system in an ordered way: first purifying, then balancing, and only then directing energy. When this progression is respected, the nervous system and subtle body are prepared to receive prana steadily, allowing awareness to deepen without destabilization.
Much popular Western “breathwork,” by contrast, often prioritizes intensity or emotional release without sufficient preparation of the nadis. While such practices can produce strong experiences, they may stimulate prana before balance and containment are established. Traditional pranayama seeks not sensation, but clarity, stability, and integration, using sequence as the key that makes transformation safe, sustainable, and profound.
