This 3-week course introduces us to the writings of contemporary mystics and what they have to teach us in facing the challenges of modern living. Topics addressed include making sense of suffering, responding to the climate crisis, technology overload and finding meaning and purpose through contemplative practices. Among the mystics featured will be John O’Donoghue, Teilhard de Chardin, Ilia Delio, Cynthia Bourgeault and Richard Rohr.
Each session will include time for contemplative practice (meditation), input from the facilitator and group discussion. The discussion will be framed within a broadly Christian contemplative context with an openness and acknowledgement of riches of other contemplative traditions. There will be a 10minute break within each session.
