The Satisfaction Cycle is a somatic framework (rooted in Body-Mind Centering®) that recognizes our body's natural capacity to move through a natural rhythm of yielding, pushing, reaching, grasping, pulling.
These developmental movement patterns support our ability to meet our needs, receive and experience a deeper sense of connection, fulfilment and ease.
When this natural rhythm is interrupted through stress, trauma or the demands of everyday life, we can become stuck in patterns of striving, overextending, disconnecting from our needs or feeling that something is always missing.
Rooted in Polyvagal Theory, this yoga workshop combines mindful movement, conscious breathing and somatic exploration to support the body's inherent capacity for regulation, connection and satisfaction. Through gentle exploration, we invite the body to rediscover these movement patterns, cultivating greater awareness, choice and the ability to receive with openness and compassion.
The workshop includes an introduction to the Satisfaction Cycle, an embodied yoga practice, and space for reflection, integration and optional sharing.
About the Polyvagal Theory & Polyvagal-Inspired Yoga
The Polyvagal Theory recognises the role of the vagus nerve in emotion regulation, social connection and fear response. Working with the vagus nerve (which extends from the brainstem down into our stomach and intestines, passing through our heart and lungs, and connecting our throat and facial muscles) helps to cultivate inner safety, connection, presence and can support healing from trauma, anxiety, PTSD and improve our overall health and wellbeing.
Polyvagal-Inspired Yoga bridges traditional yogic techniques with nervous system awareness and somatic psychology. It offers an opportunity to become a compassionate witness to your body and mind guiding you towards a deeper sense of self-understanding, trust and authenticity.
