This retreat is an invitation into the heart of traditional Kundalini Tantra — rooted, classical, embodied practice as it was originally intended.

In recent years, Tantra has often been presented through a highly sexualised Western lens (“neo-tantra”), sometimes emphasising sensual exploration and emotional catharsis over disciplined spiritual cultivation. While modern interpretations may offer value, classical Tantra is different.

Traditional Tantra was designed for householders — ordinary people living in the world with families, work, responsibilities, and community — rather than only for renunciates, hermits, or monastics. It teaches how to awaken spiritual energy while fully participating in daily life. It is a path of integration, not escape.

This day honours that original intention.

Is this retreat for you?

· Feel called to authentic, classical teachings

· Want depth without performance

· Are curious about Tantra beyond modern stereotypes

· Seek embodied spirituality while living fully in the world

This is not performance spirituality. It is steady practice. It is discipline with softness. It is awakening through embodiment.

What to Expect

Opening Circle

We begin gently — grounding, arriving, and setting personal and collective intention. There will be a short explanation of the structure of the day and the traditional framework behind the practices. No prior experience in Tantra is required.

Embodied Practice (Preparation for Energy Work)

We move into a grounded, accessible physical sequence designed to prepare the body and nervous system for subtle practices. This is not advanced yoga, but participants should be comfortable touching the floor (even with bent knees) and stepping or walking back to plank or downward dog with basic stability. The emphasis is awareness, not performance.

Pranayama, Mudra & Bandha

From movement, we transition into subtle energetic work.

· Pranayama — conscious breath regulation to influence the flow of prana (life-force energy). Breath becomes the bridge between body and mind.

· Mudras — intentional gestures or energetic seals that refine and direct subtle energy.

· Bandhas — gentle internal energy locks (such as subtle engagement of the pelvic floor or lower abdomen) that help contain and guide energy upward through the central channel.

Together, these practices prepare the ground for mantra and inner awakening.

Mantra Practice

We conclude the morning with mantra chanting. In Tantra, sound is not symbolic — it is vibrational technology. Mantra stabilises awareness, refines the mind, and harmonises the nervous system.

Sacred Food & Community Sharing

We will share a communal lunch together. Please bring a simple offering for the table — homemade or shop-bought; even a loaf of bread is welcome.

In traditional Tantra, shared food is sacred. Community gathering and conscious eating are part of the practice itself — we cultivate awareness not only on the mat, but in how we nourish and relate.

Mindful Walking in the Sanctuary Garden

In the afternoon, we move outdoors for contemplative walking in the garden, grounding the morning’s energetic work into the body and the earth.

Shakti Practice & Ida Awakening

Following the walk, we enter a gentle yet powerful Shakti-oriented practice designed to evoke and balance the Ida nadi — the lunar, cooling, intuitive channel associated with feminine consciousness. This supports receptivity, inner listening, and emotional steadiness, allowing awakened energy to integrate safely and gracefully.

Closing Sound Bath

We complete the day with a soothing sound bath to settle the nervous system, harmonise the subtle body, and integrate the energetic work in deep rest.

We will have time for Q & A at the end about the day and sharing about our experience of the movement /energy of the practices
